About

Charlise Ashlee Haagenson

(She/They)

Charlise Haagenson is an aspiring Theatre/English educator and director, a lover of the arts, and a performer.

Charlise was born in Florida but spent the formative years of her life in the rainy state of Washington. From a young age, she had a passion for the arts, performing in school shows since the second grade, taking various dance classes, and dedicating lots of time to visual arts as well. But theatre in particular has become the driving force behind her educational and creative pursuits.

Charlise has a passion for performing, directing, and playwriting. Her journey on the stage includes noteworthy roles such as Anya in her school’s production of Anastasia, Nikki Crandall in The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 at Western Washington University, and many others over the years. She has also dabbled in directing and playwriting, producing several shows during her high school years.

Charlise credits theatre for helping her discover herself, her voice, and her confidence. Theatre helped her grow as a performer and a person, going from a shy teenager to a powerful individual. That experience moved her to become a theatre educator to inspire the same effect in her future students.

Charlise graduated from Camas High School in 2023 and is currently attending Western Washington University, where she is enrolled in the Theatre Education program. Charlise is committed to empowering young minds through the arts. She envisions herself not only imparting knowledge but also helping adolescents discover their identities and finding confidence and expression through the world of performing arts.
